Ayden's Kindergarten Graduation

Wow.  Its really been an entire year since I have made a post?  This year has gone by lightening fast and I have about a million pictures and stories to post but I will just have to do that at a later time.

Yesterday my baby boy graduated from Kindergarten.  He is growing up so fast and I wish I could just stop time and keep him my baby forever.  It may sound a bit strange but I linger and savor in every special moment we have together because I know that one day he will be too old for Mommy to cuddle him to sleep at night or to play the "Who loves you the most" game.  One day he will be too old to climb into my bed when he has had a bad dream or want me to go with him on his field trips.  I sit on his bed some nights and just listen to his little snore and thank God with every one because I realize how truly blessed I am that I get to hear that sound.     I do not know if it is because we have come to realize that Ayden may be our only child in this world or if there is something else too it but we cherish every moment we get to spend with our funny little bug!

Traveling Across the Country - Kirtland Ohio

My parents flew to Philadelphia to help Ayden and I drive one of our cars to Utah.  Sean had to stay to finish out his residency so we left him alone for a month while we started our move across the country.

Since my parents have not seen most of the East coast we decided to make a little church history tour out of it and stop at some significant historical sites.  

Needless to say we had an amazing trip!

Our first stop was in Kirtland Ohio and we were able to walk the grounds of the temple.  Unfortunately you have to get set up with a tour to see the inside and they were closed at the time that we stopped.

It was still amazing to see this beautiful building, knowing the great sacrifices that went into building it and the glorious events that happened the day that it was dedicated.  I could imagine the Angels on the roof and the temple glowing with a celestial light.

There was a small cemetery next to the temple where we found buried some of Joseph Smith's relatives and children.  

This grave was not a relative of the Smiths but it was for a young girl and I thought the headstone was beautiful!

Saying Goodbye

We could not leave Philly without a good old fashion BBQ with friends to say goodbye.  We miss our Philadelphia family so much and think of them often.

Ayden really misses his "girlfriend" Kyrie and I am so glad we got a picture of the two of them, it will make a cute engagement picture some day! 

I loved teaching Emily's primary class and getting to know these two girls. They are amazing and smart and they are going to change the world!  I just know it!

IVF Update

First, We want to thank all of you who have been so supportive and have been praying for us during our IVF journey. 

They were able to put three embryo's back in but sadly to say none of them "stuck"... I am not sure what the proper medical term is.  On Wednesday we got the results back of the pregnancy test and it was disappointing to say the least but we have both accepted what is and we trust that there must be something better planned for us down the road.  We just have to be patient.

So... that's that.  Thank you again for the prayers, I have felt them and know that they have helped us through.

Three Month Update

I have been extremely horrible about keeping our Blog up to date.  Life is busy but wonderful and we are so blessed.


I am going to try to update all of our "going on's" for the last three months in one post.

February 2012

Other than our trip to Florida (see last post), February was a pretty quiet month for our family.  Ayden was named student of the month which he was thrilled about.  He was able to leave first every school day, he helped the teacher, and he got to bring a backpack full of his favorite toys.  He wanted to take guns and knives which Mom vetoed out immediately so as his second choice he chose his Indiana Jones action figure, his Build-a-bear dog he named Garmy and some of the fools gold that he found at the adventure farm (he thinks it is real gold and that is exactly what he told the class).   The teachers took this picture of him (below) and its pretty obvious he was in desperate need of a haircut!

Ayden also lost tooth number 3 and the remaining tooth soon hung by a thread and was literally sideways and we called it his snaggle tooth. I wish we got a decent picture of the snaggle tooth, it was pretty funny.  

Ayden memorized the Pledge of Allegiance and recited it for the camera.  We were so proud of him!

We also found out the great news that my baby sister Candice is expecting another baby!  We are so thrilled for her and Skeet!

March 2012

March was a fun month.  Sean's boss at his second job owns a suite at the stadium that host the Philadelphia basketball and hockey team and he invited us to join them for a hockey game.  We had a lot of fun!

Ayden's preschool class went roller skating so we pulled out Ayden's learning skates and he rolled his little heart out until he was just to tired to roll any more.  He loved it!

April 2012

The Easter bunny visited us in Baltimore this year.  We decided to take a trip during Sean's vacation time and visit the Children's Science Museum at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.  It was not the best Children's museum that we have been too, but Ayden enjoyed it.

Ayden got two more Indiana Jones action figures, a helicopter, bubbles and a chocolate bunny.  He was pretty excited to find his Easter basket hiding in the hotel room.

Sean had to fly out very early Easter morning so we spent Easter with our dear Philly friends, eating delicious food and an exciting Easter egg hunt.

Sean went to Cedar to interview for a job over Easter but we have not made a definite decision yet, so no news there!

Ayden FINALLY lost his snaggle tooth!  Here is his beautiful (but dirty) toothless smile!

And finally... as most of our close family and friends already know, Sean and I are in the process of IVF or InVetro.  It has been an uphill climb with sick kids, medication mix ups and schedule confusions but we finally had our retrieval today.   We now just have to wait and see how many possible babies that will make it through the fertilization.  We are all so excited to grow our little family!

Our Trip to Florida

We had the luxury to spend a long weekend in Florida while Sean attended a dental conference.  It was great to get away from the cold winter weather in Philadelphia and have some fun in the sun!

Dave found a great deal on a million dollar home on the water that had 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, pool, spa and many other amenities.  We rented the home with Dave and his girlfriend, Scott, and Benton.  Which actually turned out to be a lot of fun!

We made a couple of trips to the beach front hotel that Sean's conference was at.  Ayden found sea shells and played in the white sand.  

The house that we rented was on the water and had a kayak that we could use so we took a few cruises around the canals.  There were dolphins that would swim in the water in front of the house but we didn't get a chance to take a picture.

 Ayden loved helping paddle.  It made him feel like one of the grown ups.

From sun up to sun down Ayden was spending most of his time in the pool or hot tub that was at the house.  He is actually swimming on his own now and loves the water.  He is going to be our little fish!

All of the guys got some time to relax in between lectures.  Tough life huh?

Ayden loved hanging out with Dave and his girlfriend Rachel.  I actually think he has a little crush on Rachel!  They are both so cute with him.

Christmas 2011 in Philadelphia

We spent another Christmas on the East Coast this year.  We missed our families so much but we made the best of it and went on some fun adventures.

Ayden had Santa Claus visit him at his preschool this year and he was pretty excited because it was "the real one".  Ayden seems to have a super hero like ability to tell the "helpers" from the real Santa.

We all joined up with Dave and Rachel (Sean's co-resident and his cute girlfriend) and took the train to New York City to see the big tree.  I honestly could not believe how many people were in the city the same night that we were.  It was overwhelming to say the least.   

In addition to seeing the tree, we took a trip to the huge Toys-r-us store that was Ayden's favorite. We also went to the top of 30 Rock and got a great view of the city.

Its not Christmas in Philly if you don't make a trip to Longwood Gardens.  The Christmas decor was breathtaking! 

We had a little gingerbread house competition at our house and Sean won.  He is actually quite good!

Christmas eve was very quiet at our house.  We had a quiet dinner at home then we let Ayden open all of his presents that came from Utah.  He was so excited to get to play with some of his toys early.  He got a new dart gun from his Grandma and Grandpa Schex, police outfit from his cousins and a microscope from Grandma and Grandpa Prisbrey.  He was in heaven!

Christmas morning was equally exciting, yet I ended up having to wake Ayden up because HE SLEPT IN!!! I could not believe it.  He was so excited to see all of the fun gifts waiting for him.  Santa brought him a snowball blaster, r/c jeep and crayon maker.
